ABOUT BLACK & GRAY

The Black & Gray Foundation was founded in 2015 by Alex and James Ballengee. While the Ballengee name may be familiar in the baseball community, The Black & Gray Foundation is its own entity established after numerous clients of the Ballengee Group expressed a desire to give back to those in need and requested a way to make a difference in their community.

In the days leading up to the 2015 MLB draft, two of the agency’s draft advisees were there having numerous inquiries about where the hats they had been wearing could be purchased. This public interest was the initial lightbulb moment when Alex realized that there was potential to do more with the aesthetically pleasing logo. Knowing she had no interest in making income off the brand, the wheels started turning on how this could be the basis for the Black & Gray Foundation.

Alex was anxious to put her philanthropic vision of their sports agency and its motto to “Make it Matter” into action, but quickly realized that the early years had to be focused on the core of the business. Now, Ballengee Group is no longer the new kid on the block and has arguably grown into the best boutique baseball agency in the business. The timing is perfect to finally, Make it Matter.

The Black & Gray Foundation is a Dallas based non-profit tax exempt, IRS-designated 501(c)(3) organization.
